Agenda Notes - Brief listing of what should be in your child's agenda (NOTE: Sign up for NOTIFY and you will get an email every time I update this page.)

COMMUNICATION with the AGENDA:                                        || Top of Page ||

Communication is key! I will post a new newsletter every 2 weeks on this web page.  In an effort to save paper, I will only send a paper copy to those parents who request one.  All others can access up to date information here.  In addition to newsletters, I would ask that each of you sign your child's Agenda daily.  Not only will students' write their homework assignments, but I may also write individual notes in them.  Conversely, you should feel free to correspond with me through the Agenda as well.

I would also like to hear from you about ideas, concerns, questions, and encouragement. I will respond as quickly as possible. Write to me at cristin.kennedy@cobbk12.org .

Is your child reading 15-20 minutes per day? This is so important. Much research has been done on this topic. The more children read, the better they become at it.

Try a family reading time-when everyone reads. Turn off the phone, the TV, etc. for 15 minutes one night. Enjoy!

Bring an independent reading book EVERYDAY.  We will do Reader's Workshop and Writer's Workshop daily.

May Focus:

  • grammar review, persuasive writing, narrative writing, focus on 6+1 Writing Traits, Writing Process skills (Brainstorming, drafting, revising, editing, publishing)...
  • Sitton Spelling Units
  • Wordly Wise Units
