Please make sure that your child has their Target notebook at school each week.  Our units build from week to week.  Activities sometimes refer back to previous assignments.  When Target notebooks aren’t at school the day of class, learning is affected.

CEISMIC (Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics and Computing)
The program, (Kids Interested in Discovering Science) K.I.D.S. Club, invites 2nd-5th grade students to come to Georgia Tech's campus to participate in hands-on learning experiences on select Saturdays during the school year.  These programs are lead by Georgia Tech faculty and staff and are centered around a "learning by doing" approach to mathematics and science.

1.10.2007  HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!   I am so excited about our new units for Spring 2007.  Here are some clues about our next units...  
FIRST GRADE:  Is it a cat?  Is it a Ham?  Is it a Fish?      
Second & Third GRADE:    Up, up and AWAY!!!!!!     
FOURTH & FIFTH GRADE:  Is it feudal?     
Our classes will begin at the end of January.  You will receive a letter from me soon. :-)   Keep working those brains!!!  Try to impress your teacher by going above and beyond!  E-HUG!!!

 

 

11.09.06 “A Swine of the Times" - The Swine Time Festival will be in Climax, GA on Saturday, Nov. 25th.  There will be some rib-ticklin' fun with quilting demonstrations, music and entertainment on three stages, kiddie rides and a 5K run.  There will be awards for the best-dressed pig, fastest pig and best-looking pig.  Visitors can take part in contests especially for them, such as hog calling, corn shucking and the greasy pig chase.  Other activities include eating chitterlings and ribs, baby crawling race and syrup making.  Visitors can also tour the town's historic log cabin, explore hundreds of booths featuring arts and crafts and partake in the ample food on sale.  For more information, call (229) 246-1050 or e-mail dschcch@planttel.net.

9.6.06 - Please join the Cobb County Chapter of the Georgia Association of Gifted Children.  The association is YOUR advocate for all gifted children in Cobb, Georgia, and the nation.  This chapter offers monthly workshops to help children be more successful at school and to help support parents of gifted children.  See your child's Target teacher for an application or click on the link above to find an online application.  The Cobb County elementary school that has the highest percentage of membership will earn a monetary award.  Bullard Elm. won last year.  Help Ford win this year.
